Staffing problems

Poor communication between parents and teachers is putting children’s education at risk, a new report has suggested. The study of 2,000 parents and 1,000 teachers showed more than half of parents are in contact with their child’s teacher just once a term or less. Forty-two per cent of teachers said the reason some parents made little contact was because staff could be “difficult to approach”. The report, from the ICT agency Becta, was launched to promote its Next Generation Learning campaign, promoting technology to improve communication.
