As a starter for ICT I give children one row of letters from the keyboard to make as many words as they can (letters can be used more than once). If the bottom row is chosen, I allow vowels to be added. Although it doesn’t teach them typing, they do learn where the letters are. An adaptation is “keyboard bingo”. This uses pre-prepared “bingo” sheets of the keyboard with about a third of the letters blanked out (different ones on each sheet). Instead of calling numbers, you call letters.
