SADLY, ministers appear unwilling to listen to the profession’s arguments about performance- related pay (TES, January 28).
I would bet my annual pay rise, however, that if teachers threatened to withdraw from providing student-teacher placements next September and to take strie action on national test days we would soon see the suspension of this iniquitous, divisive arrangement and the likes of Sir Ron Dearing called swiftly in to get the Government out of another fine mess of its own making.
