JULY-SEPTEMBER. TOWER HAMLETS SUMMER UNIVERSITY

Courses this year are geared towards what local pupils aged 14-16 have requested: study skills in humanities, science, mathematics and computers; French, German, Spanish; sports including basketball and aerobics; and “recycled” fashion design courses plus “Back to the Future” sessions at the Geffrye Museum exploring how the past has influenced fashion trends. JULY 17-AUGUST 18. ROEHAMPTON INSTITUTE SUMMER SCHOOLS

Students completing six modules in three intensive weeks gain a postgraduate diploma in art, craft and design (ACD) education. (A dissertation for an MA takes a further nine months). The programme features: perspectives on the study of ACD; and either an ACD practical project or curriculum studies in ACD. Organised visits to London’s galleries and museums are included. Locations include top independent schools such as Cheltenham College, Millfield School and Marlborough College. On offer are sports and multi-activity holidays, arts and crafts, drama workshops, computer skills and mathematics, and learning a language in any of the major European countries, or even Mexico or Japan.
