Support staff in pay body campaign

Teaching assistants, cleaners and caretakers travelled to Westminster this week to lobby MPs over the abolition of the School Support Staff Negotiating Body. Set up by Labour to devise a fairer pay structure, the body is due to be axed in the new Education Bill. Christina McAnea, Unison’s head of education, said: “Scrapping the SSSNB is a huge backwards step.”
