Teachers come quite far down the pecking order for pupils, trailing badly in the list of preferences that includes mobile phones, DVDs, computer games and chicken nuggets. They may make your life more difficult, but you are more important to them than any of those items. Although you do not bleep, flicker or teach to catchy music, you point the way to their future.
