TRADITIONAL toy manufacturers and stores are struggling to keep pace with children’s tastes.

The British Association of Toy Retailers estimates that the number of independent toy shops on the high street has halved in 10 years. Many in he toy industry complain that children are “growing older younger” and spending money on music, sports goods and mobile phones rather than toys.
