Trees Alive!

Comedians who get cheap laughs by saying “Wolverhampton” should take a look at Trees Alive! It’s a resource pack produced to help schools and community groups understand and celebrate trees; and it comes from the Black Country Urban Forest, which has planted nearly a million trees in the past five years. The pack contains suggestions for getting to know trees by hugging, measuring listening to and experimenting with them. But it’s no mere manual for drippy eco-warriors; its well-informed thoughtfulness will be valuable far beyond the Midlands.

Trees Alive! costs pound;15 from National Urban Forestry Unit, The Science Park, Stafford Road, Wolverhampton, WV10 9RTTel: 01902 828600. Fax: 01902 828700Email: info@nufu.org.uk. Website: www.nufu.org.uk
