Al fresco folk tale

Punchkin, Enchanter, based on an ancient Indian story, is London Bubble’s promenade production this year. The parks of London will come alive in the summer evenings in July and August as professional performers and local people tell the tale of Billo. The audience follows jealousy, danger, desire and revenge from glade to open space to woodland. Tour information and tickets: 020 7237 1663.

Music in Devon

The Dartington International Summer School will take place on the Dartington Estate near Totnes, Devon, between July 19 and August 9.

Courses, workshops and masterclasses are open to visitors, and there are concerts and opera performances (notably Handel’s Orlando and Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia) open to the public each week. Join in activities around Rotherham, South Yorkshire, to maintain the woodland or learn about wildlife. For example, find out how farming and conservation can go hand in hand on July 13 at Holly Farm, Hooton Roberts, or discover a wild larder on August 3 at Ulley Country Park visitor centre.

Bollywood in Brum

Obsession, a film made by students from King Edward VI schools in Handsworth and Aston, Birmingham, follows 15-year-old Krish, who is obsessed with film star Sameera. Available soon on video and DVD.
