Turn fantasy into reality

7th March 2003, 12:00am
If you have ever imagined yourself as a currency counterfeiter or Stone Age flint-knapper, Science Week (March 8-16) at the British Museum is your chance to transform fantasy into reality. A series of family workshops in the Clore Education Centre offers many insights into the ways technology has been influenced by its historical setting. Handling prehistoric tools or investigating fake money is only part of the fun. You can also find out what X-rays and dentists can tell us about mummified Egyptians, develop your skills as a Babylonian scribe or listen to scientists reveal the investigative secrets of the museum itself. There are also workshops costing pound;3 on other topics.
