In an online comment piece for TES Connect, Sir Tim Brighouse, former schools commissioner for London, called on the Labour Party to base education policy on research, rather than on the views of political advisers and anecdote (bit.lyTimBrighouse). “We would like to see agreement on the way any secretary of state ought to share his powers with others, thereby reversing centralisation,” he wrote, sparking a debate on Twitter.

What is taught in schools is a political question. Not sure who Brighouse thinks should be making that decision if not govt...
