Victimisation attacked

David Drever, outgoing president of the Educational Institute of Scotland, has issued a strongly-worded statement attacking any “victimisation” of union representatives. It was prompted by the case of Penny Gower, a long-standing EIS activist who, the union believes, was “summarily dismissed” by Carnegie College in Dunfermline because she was the union’s health and safety representative there.
