Walk upright? Then why not take a class?

How many other teachers are coming across folk who believe that all they have to do in response to redundancy is let their local school know that they are available and they will be rushed into classrooms?

Teaching is so undervalued in the UK that there is an assumption that anyone who can walk upright and sign their own name could be of value to students. I think access to the profession should include further hoops to jump through - not fewer.
