Salen Primary on Mull was congratulated on its Mediascapes project, part of a Great Escapes scheme run by the National Library of Scotland which gets primaries on the island to produce multimedia walking tours for tourists. After an outing to the Cnoc na Scroine hill fort, the pupils decided to use it as their focus. They walked along the coast to the fort, taking notes and photographs of wildlife and buildings to make a map and graphics for the tour. They created scripts with information and recorded them in Gaelic and English, and held a mini-ceilidh to record music. Finally, they used ICT to pull everything together.
