Win a DVD recorder

9th December 2005, 12:00am
A new educational website was launched as part of National Construction Week in October. ConstructionSkills targets students in Years 7-11 to enter the “ruconstructive” competition. Years 7-9 are asked to make a film about their favourite and least favourite buildings while Years 1011 must create an advertisement to encourage young people to look for careers in the construction industry. There is a huge skills shortage in this industry with 88,000 new people needed each year. The competition has been designed to fit in with elements of the national curriculum for art and design, ICT and media studies. It is open until February half-term and winners of the group categories could win a DVD recorder for their school.
