The digital channel Teachers TV has won an international award for a documentary about the daily struggles of a pair of schools in the West Bank. Two Schools in Nablus, produced for the channel by Flashback TV in association with Al Jazeera, received the welfare education category of the Japan Prize, an award presented in Tokyo. Taylor Downing, joint producer of the show, said: “The passion for education and learning among teachers and students in Palestine is immense, despite the daily challenges facing the overcrowded and underfunded schools.”
