Woodhead’s curriculum attack draws unfriendly fire

Chris Woodhead has a nerve. He berates “smart-suited civil servants who haven’t the faintest idea what it’s like to teach in a tough inner-city school”.

He has spent 20 years or more telling heads how to run schools. Yet he has not been a teacher since the 1970s and has never been the head of any school, let alone an inner-city one. I don’t blame him. It’s much easier from an armchair.
