Workload agreement

* An unforeseen consequence of the workload agreement has been a windfall for the examination boards. The replacement of examination officers who are experienced teachers with inexperienced staff has led to a massive increase in penalty fees applied by the boards.

I am aware of centres where these fees are now running in excess of Pounds 20,000. This is a serious waste of money that would be better spent on students and schools. It would be interesting to find out how much is being wasted nationally.
