Around 150 schools are suspending the curriculum today to run creative writing workshops, with activities ranging from using paintings from the National Gallery to stimulate writing to penning blogs and writing about the history of the school. “Everybody Writes Day” is a spin-off from a website of the same name run by Booktrust and the National Literacy Trust, with funding from the Department for Children, Schools and Families.
