Foundation and is hoping parents will contribute about pound;100 a year per pupil. A new wireless network will allow the netBooks to be used in every classroom.

The initiative is a prelude to an ambitious project that hopes to deliver mobile computing to all 7,000 students in Lambeth’s 13 schools in a similar way. If successful it would be the first LEA to achieve such a goal. The pound;28 million scheme has provisional Government funding of pound;14.2 million, with additional income to be generated Locally.
