The yob joke is on the media

In the spirit of “How many X does it take to change a lightbulb?” jokes, I think there is a new permutation to add: “How many media people does it take to stop a yob?”

The sight of the young person in FE Focus kicking in the window of Millbank Tower while surrounded by photographers provides the answer: there are never enough (“Cash help for poor students will drop by 90 per cent, claims NUS”, November 12).

Next time someone from the media criticises teachers and lecturers for not challenging socially unacceptable behaviour in young people, I think we have the evidence of the standard of behaviour that the media, en-masse, does find acceptable.
