Youth prison may be nationalised

A PRIVATELY-RUN prison for young offenders may be taken back into public control after being branded the worst jail in the country. Bullying was said to be rife at Ashfield Young Offenders Institute, near Bristol, run by Premier Prison Services. Prisons chief Martin Narey said another firm would take over if there was no improvement. If that failed, he would consider bringing Ashfield back into the public sector.
