It’s just what you need when returning to work after a relaxing half-term: the Headteachers’ Charter published by Education Scotland to read through. Or not.

The charter offers headteachers guidance for “school empowerment”. It advises heads that they should:

• Empower staff to continually improve practice, encouraging professional dialogue, supporting career-long professional learning and collaborative enquiry, and the use of research and evidence-informed practice.
