A new Tes Scotland podcast series for the summer, Film schools: what we learn when cinema goes to school, looks at some of the movies’ most memorable depictions of teachers.

In Episode 2, out today, teacher of English Sammy McHugh discusses whether Gregory’s Girl rings true as a portrayal of school life. And she has real authority in this area, having worked at Abronhill High, the school in Cumbernauld where Bill Forsyth’s 1981 classic was filmed.

Episode 1 of Film Schools - featuring headteacher John Rutter’s sceptical analysis of practices at a well-known school of witchcraft and wizardy is also available. Click here to listen.

Look out for more episodes soon.
