For the past 3 years, I have been working as a Wellbeing Practitioner in both primary and secondary schools having taught in mainstream, specialist and alternative provisions for 8 years. My main work is as a 'behaviour detective' and establishing nurture and therapeutic settings in schools as well as leading policy and curriculum projects to ensure that policy reflects and is informed by our understanding of ACE's and the impact of trauma on the developing brain. My work is theory & evidence based from my studies in Wellbeing Practice for Children and Young People which brought the disciplines of education and therapy to work with those who were struggling either academically or emotionally. My whole school approach has assisted the speed of academic progression as well as reducing the levels of behavioural incidents by over 31%.
