The ethical and moral issues of science will be taught in a new GCSE curriculum, designed to bring the subject into the 21st century.
The revised programme of study for key stage 4 pupils will be available to schools from next autumn, and will include such topics as the MMR vaccine, the dangers of radiation from mobile phones, and stem cell research.
