260,000 saw I at a glance

The record for the world’s largest poetry reading has been smashed by 260,000 pupils. The simultaneous reading of Wordworth’s Daffodils, at more than 1,000 schools, was led by poet laureate Andrew Motion to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.The previous record was set by 3,701 children across the UK in 2000.
