Sniping at any sense of progression in education or at the notion that school leaders might be developed and supported is not wittily old-fashioned, but plain daft. Three-hundred-and-sixty-degree assessment is not remotely newfangled either and it has both strengths and weaknesses - but if I was a potential school leader I would much prefer it to the advice of this old grouch.
