Cathy Macaslan, Aberdeen University’s head of the school of education, has been appointed a vice-principal of the university, with responsibility for learning and teaching. Ms Macaslan was one of the key figures in the “Scottish Teachers for a New Era” project, a pound;2.7 million plan for teacher education backed by the Hunter Foundation, which she will continue to manage after she takes up her new post in August.
