An unnamed member of staff at Melville House School near Cupar has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation into allegations of physical abuse and bullying. In an unrelated move a firm of Kirkcaldy solicitors is acting for two former pupils who may sue Fife Council over claims of abuse in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The school has 29 secondary-age boys with behavioural problems, 14 of them on a residential basis, and employs seven teachers, 12 care workers and four senior managers.
