You can take the man out of the inspectorate but can you take the inspectorate out of the man? Probably not, judging by the opening remarks of former HM senior chief Douglas Osler at last week’s Enterprise in Education conference at Jordanhill.
Referring to the various acronyms in relation to enterprise and careers that have proliferated in Scottish education over the years, Osler recalled the Education for the Industrial Society project. “EIS,” he mused. “What an unlikely acronym for something so innovative.”
What could he possibly have meant?
