Children with dyslexia are to receive intensive one-to-one lessons from specialist teachers.
The decision, announced this week, forms part of the ongoing overhaul of primary education. A new pilot scheme will train primary teachers in how to identify pupils with dyslexia. And another pilot will offer these children additional one-to-one reading tuition.
Ed Balls, Schools Secretary, said parents and campaigners had been calling for dyslexia screening in every school. He has asked Jim Rose to include education for dyslexic children in his ongoing review of primary education.
