The Maths 100 Foundation is a non-profit organisation which encourages students to tackle additional mathematics beyond homework and school requirements. All profits are ploughed back into secondary maths teachers’ in-service training. The project has been extended to primary schools with Maths 100 Odyssey, comprising audio tapes and colourful books of mythological stories which lead six to nine-year-olds into mathematics. At lively Saturday workshops they explore new maths concepts.

Schools gain Pounds 10 towards maths INSET or curricular materials per pupil joining the project. Maths 100 plans to establish drop-in Mathematics Centres across Britain where teachers will run hands-on workshops. Details: Maths 100, Chiltern House, Fawley Road, Lower Assendon, Henley on Thames, Oxon RG9 6AN. Tel: 01491 411686.
