A private education company has admitted it was slow to tell a primary school that it had discovered asbestos at the school. Staff walked out of Winton primary in King's Cross, London, last month and are due to return after Easter when the asbestos has been removed. Last Monday CEA@Islington announced asbestos had been found in nine other schools in the London borough. Councillor James Kempton, education spokesman for Islington council said there was no risk to staff or pupils. The asbestos will either be removed or made safe during the Easter or summer holidays.
