The National Organisation for Adult Learning is calling for nominations for next May’s adult learners’ week. There is a variety of awards for individuals or groups. Nominations can come from friends, family, employer or workmates, depending on the award.

And the Department for Education and Skills has published a leaflet, Give it a go, to encourage people to return to learning. The leaflet also highlights adult learners’ week when anyone can try out courses, visit colleges, exhititions and local museums.

Last year more than 40,000 people phoned the special learndirect helpline to find out how to get started.
