By the time today’s teenagers reach their forties, a third of the population will be older than 60. Be Lifewise promotes intelligent debate at KS3 and 4 about relationships between the generations. There are 12 lesson plans featuring the Lifewise family. Old memories are interwoven with future fears; sturdy independence matched with illness and frailty. We examine the problems of money management, the role of community campaigners, the stereotypes found in the media. Helpful notes for teachers and an attractive poster ensure that lively controversy leads towards consideration and clarity.
