Three grant-maintained schools in Hampshire are to have a total of Pounds 25,000 docked from their budgets for having “untypically high” numbers of pupils recorded taking school meals. The cost of providing meals is used by the Funding Agency for Schools in calculating annual maintenance grants.
A FAS inquiry concluded that “downward adjustments” should be made to the grants for Applemore (Pounds 7,700), Oaklands (Pounds 6,900) and Testwood (Pounds 10,500) schools.
