A GROUP of adult students who took part in a framing and gilding course in London were soon to discover the world of adult learning is not always paved with gold.

The story of what happened when they signed up for a three-term course in Westminster has taken the shine off the Government’s glowing rhetoric about the value of lifelong learning.
