All's fair in wartime broadcasting

I cannot be alone in thinking that your leading article of April 28, was unfair to the wartime information services. You say "The BBC will be at full-blast in early May, and making some frank amends for the half-truths, failures and paternalistic propaganda". What those who were born since the War find hard to imagine is that we might so easily have lost it. Right to the end, we were bombarded by V2 rockets, and the Germans were resisting on their own territory. Morale at home and in the services was all-important, and you would be wiser to pay tribute to the work of the Ministry of Information and of the BBC.
