The Scottish Claymores and Glasgow City Council have teamed up to launch a National Football League Schools Challenge. Glasgow primaries have been paired with the 32 NFL teams, either in the American Football Conference or National Football Conference divisions, and the scheme - which has a prize fund of pound;5,000 - encourages them to learn more about the NFL and the United States.

Langside Primary has been paired with the Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Kings Park Primary has been twinned with the favourites to win the Super Bowl this season, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Pupils are encouraged to send messages to their team and learn about the area where they are based, and rewards are made to schools which meet specific challenges.
