Flicking through the new TES, I happened upon Mary Bousted’s column (“It’s the economy, stupid”, 16 September). I’ve no idea what it’s about because I read the opening words and could get no further. “The White Queen in Alice in Wonderland proudly proclaims ...” No! The chess pieces are in Alice Through the Looking-Glass.
Is Mary equally careless in sourcing her other information?
