In your front page last week, you reported that “the Government has insisted the reductions ... will be confined to ‘wasteful spending’”. It seems that ICT in education agency Becta is in the firing line and so, eventually, will be QCDA. Now, the annual GTC subscriptions of #163;30 or so, multiplied by the total number of teachers, might not make much of an impact on the #163;163 billion deficit.

But could this be a good time for the pointless GTC to be Con-Dem-ed to its rightful place, the dustbin of educational history? We can but hope.
