The TESS and Scholastic are delighted to announce that the winner of their We Are Writers! competition is Kilsyth Academy. The North Lanarkshire school’s winning proposal is to publish a collection of pupils’ accounts and experiences of the opportunities and challenges they face, living in modern Scottish society. The book will be published free by Scholastic and copies delivered to the school, which can then sell it as a fundraiser. Other ideas submitted ranged from a book of traditional Scottish and international tales, to an anthology of poems, stories and articles in Shetland dialect and standard English, and a journey through the seasons.
