I was disappointed your support staff supplement (TES, December 6) made only passing mention of librarians. Why are we almost invisible?
We often contribute to information skills teaching and literacy work. In my school the library is open 44 hours a week: for much of this I am supervising students without a teacher in sight. We manage budgets and do administrative work, but the pleasure of the job comes from working with pupils.
