Amnesty International has expressed concern over the safety of three members of an Ethiopian teachers’ trade union who are believed to be in detention after criticising the government. It is urging its members to appeal to the Ethiopian authorities about the treatment of the men from the Ethiopian Teachers’ Association.

Tim Hancock, Amnesty International UK’s campaigns director: “They should either have charges brought against them and be given a fair and independent trial or they should be released immediately.”
