Apprentice pay hike

From October 1, employers will have to pay a new minimum wage to apprentices of pound;2.50 per hour for under-19s or for adults still in their first year.

From October 1, employers will have to pay a new minimum wage to apprentices of pound;2.50 per hour for under-19s or for adults still in their first year.

Other adult apprentices will still receive the national minimum wage for their age group. Apprentices earning pound;95 a week for a Government-funded apprenticeship will not have their pay cut if their hours are less than the 38 needed to match their previous wage.
