The expert imported for the occasion at the Crichton campus in Dumfries was Sir Ken Robinson, the guru on the subject, and the creative description was offered by Fraser Sanderson, director of education in Dumfries and Galloway.
Robinson is one of the all-time greats as a public performer and he didn't let anybody down last week. Now ensconced as an adviser to the Getty Center in Los Angeles, he had an engaging if self-deprecating habit of letting us know he walks and talks with the famous - Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft ("Paul"), and California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger ("Arnie").
An impossible act to follow? That feat was almost pulled off by Bob Rogers, director of lifelong learning at Oracle, who indeed said how difficult it was to follow Sir Ken - "or Ken, as I call him".
