From tomorrow, Antwerp, sharing the honours with Lille as cultural capital of Europe, will celebrate its most famous son, Peter Paul Rubens, with seven exhibitions. Much of the painter’s own art collection will be gathered at his house, at 9-11 Wapper (until June 13), while Antwerp’s Royal Museum of Fine Arts hopes to stimulate discussion by mixing 19th-century French painters with its own Rubens collection. Or visitors can discover the artist as they follow his footsteps round the city, using a map from the tourist office. Information: www.rubens2004.
