Deaf-blind children in Manchester have been working with musicians, actors and visual artists in a project which aims to explore the pupils’ feelings and emotions.

How Are You? How Am I? is funded by Children in Need and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, and is a joint venture between the city’s Royal Schools for the Deaf and Stockport education authority.

Peter Annear, a project co-ordinator, said: “The children require intensive interaction over a long period of in order for them to gain confidence in building positive relationships.

“This means that the numbers of children involved may be small, but we hope that the quality of the outcome for the children will be of the highest possible order.”
