A visit to one of the earliest recycling plants in Scotland has been made more enticing with a workshop on how to transform old junk into works of art. A local artist will be in residence at the Verdant Works, a converted jute recycling factory in Dundee. The artist will be on hand to show how creative recycling can be. The centre was active from the late 19th century until the 1970s, and has since been turned into a museum. Workshops cost pound;3 per pupil. For details telephone 01382 225282; www.verdantworks.com
